Network Cabling
Alarmto installs structured network cabling for offices, retail locations, warehouses, and other commercial properties across Toronto and the GTA.
Our technicians handle the work from the first cable route through termination, testing, and final rack organization.
We run Ethernet cabling to workstations, wall outlets, Wi-Fi access points, cameras, and other network devices, with each run planned for its actual location and use.
If you already have a network, we can assess the existing cabling and identify what needs to be added, replaced, traced, or reorganized.
Integrated Systems
We can plan network connections for compatible IP cameras, access control, intercoms, and Wi-Fi access points alongside the main data cabling.
Planning these connections together allows cable pathways, rack space, and connection points to be considered as part of the same installation.
Rack Organization
The cabling needs to be organized at the network rack as well as at each device location.
We install and organize patch panels, rack connections, and cable management, with routes planned through suitable ceiling spaces, utility areas, trays, or other accessible pathways.
For existing networks, we work with the equipment and cabling already in place where possible. If existing cables need to be traced, labelled, or reorganized, we can assess that as part of the project.
IT Rack Setup
We install and organize IT racks for commercial network equipment, including switches, patch panels, routers, and other compatible hardware.
Rack setup is planned around equipment size, cable routing, ventilation, power access, and space for future expansion. We also organize and label connections to make network equipment easier to identify and maintain.
Cable Selection
Cat6 and Cat6a are common choices for commercial Ethernet installations.
Cat6 supports gigabit networking and can support 10 Gbps over shorter runs when the equipment and installation conditions allow it. Cat6a is designed for 10 Gbps Ethernet over runs up to 100 metres and generally requires more space because of its larger cable size.
Ethernet channel length is normally limited to 100 metres, including the permanent cable and patch cords. We select the cable based on the equipment, run length, pathway, and project requirements.
New or Existing
For occupied properties, installation can also be planned around business hours and access to the work areas.
Testing & Handover
Every installed cable run is tested after termination and labelled so the connection can be identified at the rack.
The testing and documentation provided depend on the project scope and requirements.
Our Process
Our team handles the cabling from layout and cable routing through termination, testing, and rack organization.
We look at the building, existing network, equipment locations, required connections, cable routes, rack space, and access to the work areas.
We determine the cable type and routes, mark the connection points, install the runs, and terminate them at the outlet and rack.
We test the installed connections, label the completed runs, and organize the cabling at the rack before handover.
Tell us about your property and what you want to protect. We’ll discuss suitable equipment, installation options, and the next steps for your business.
